www.camillamartinez.com/photography My name is Alex. I’m a girl. People don’t quite know if I am a boy or girl just by my name, so I thought it helpful to clarify. I am 26 years-old. ENFJ. I teach Stage Management and Leadership at BYU-Idaho and do a myriad of other things there too. I completed my undergrad at BYUI (yes, it has been interesting teaching my friends. And yes, I can date students). After graduating from there, I went on to Cincinnati, Ohio to the College-Conservatory of Music for graduate work, an MFA in Stage Management. If you want to read my thesis on mentoring, please email me (I think only about 6 people have read it). I am originally from Southern California, and lived in Idaho, Ohio and Vermont. I like to float on rivers, work on my tan, work out, yoga, pretend like I like skiing, podcast, travel, sing karaoke, hang out with my family and my new NIECE! And yes, my hair is naturally curly. |
about the

My real reason for this blog is that I want to change the world. Although, I thought about it and I don't think I can do that right away... Darn you Millennial mindset! So, here I am. Starting a blog.
This blog is a refection of my thoughts an feelings of being single in the LDS culture. My interactions are mainly the ages between 18-30 years old.. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. These blog posts that are not a reflection of the teachings of the Church, but my thoughts and interpretation of the Gospel principles. I know this is a big undertaking, but I don’t have a husband to make dinner for, so why not? Teasing. Teasing… |

With 'the S word' I hope to:
Caveat: I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being a member of the LDS Church. This is in no way a reflection of how every member of the Church treats those that are single people. This is a compilation of examples and interactions that I have had with some of the culture in our religion. |
